The al-Qaeda offshoot in Syria launched – today – a full scale offensive against rival rebel alliance in al-Ghab plains and Shahshado Mountain region in the western countryside of Hama.
Clashes between the two warring parties erupted early this morning where Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham managed to expel the National Front for Liberation (NFL) from the towns of Kokba, Rasha Al-Shamaliyah and janoubyah , Zankar, Daqmaq, Zaqoum, Qaleden and Qahera.
In response, NFL declared general mobilization across the areas it controls in northern Syria to fight off HTS assault. Reinforcements were reported to have arrived to northern Hama and southern Idlib.
Recently, HTS drove out the Turkish-backed Zinki group from west Aleppo following ferocious battles.
